What is the relationship between the concentration and the weight of a solution?

Question:   Can u explain the relationship between concentration and the weight of a solution???? I think that it's that one affects the other, like it's level of concentration can make it heavier or lighter, but i need some clarification.

Answer:

Generally, the more concentrated a solution is, the denser it is.  You can see how this works if you fill a balloon with salt water and put it into a sink full of tap water.  The balloon will sink because the salt water has a higher concentration than the tap water.

It's the same phenomenon that causes people who swim in the Dead Sea or the Great Salt Lake to float more than people swimming elsewhere.  Both bodies of water are extremely salty, which means that their density is higher.  As a result, people float better than in freshwater or ordinary seawater.
